About Me

My name is Christopher Paul James Dallas-Feeney, Sr. I earned my PhD in Political Science at George Washington University in 2013. My intellectual guides then and now include great scholars: Professors Nathan Brown, Steve BiddleJim Lebovic and Holger Schmidt. Other long-suffering scholars who regularly come to my aid include Dan Byman and Erik Voeten. Thanks to all of you – and my fellow PhD cohort members – for enduring this latecomer to the political science arena.

I have also earned a Master of Arts in Security Studies at Georgetown University (2006) and a long, long time ago, I earned a BS in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University (1977). I was formerly a general management consulting partner with KPMG and Booz Allen Hamilton (now Booz and Co.).

I have come to the academic world late at the end of the (God willing) first half of my life. My dissertation research is the foundation for this blog. The working title of my dissertation is: The Social Fitness of Insurgencies – the Organizational Payoff for Legitimated Power. A mouthful, I know, but with a little scotch under our belts I could make it make sense to my 90 year old Mom. You will have to trust me on that for now.
